ONE LETTERMAN

One Letterman is one of the properties in the Hobson-Lucas family estate, along with Skywalker Ranch, in Marin County. The campus became a part of the estate in 1997 when Lucasfilm Ltd. was selected to replace the vacated Letterman Army Medical Center with the Letterman Digital Arts Center, now known as One Letterman. Construction began in November 2002 and was completed in July 2005.

George Lucas envisioned a campus that would pay tribute to the historical significance of the Presidio, blended with the future-forward spirit of digital arts. He designed physical landmarks that naturally integrate with the larger park and incorporated the same arrangement of materials and palette of red brick, white stucco, and terra cotta roofs present throughout the Presidio. The design is intended to align One Letterman with its neighboring structures, some of which have stood for nearly a century. Through the incorporation of architectural design elements such as gables, porches, and fenestration, the campus stands as an homage to the Presidio's military heritage.

ONE LETTERMAN CAMPUS FACTS

• The 23-acre campus includes a 17-acre public park designed by world-renowned landscape architect and designer Lawrence Halprin that reflects the landscape of the high Sierras with cascading rocky streams, perennial plantings, sloping meadows, and a serene lagoon.  

• Designed to LEED Gold Certified standards, the sustainability-focused campus integrates recycling and reuse of materials and other environmental features.

• There are four buildings (approximately 872,000 square feet) known simply as Buildings A, B, C, D.

• Secure underground parking for 1,500 vehicles including electric charging stations. 

• Private access to campus buildings directly from secure underground parking garage.
